Storybrooke Pet Grooming was built from the ground up by owner and groomer Ashley, who started the business with a passion for providing gentle, personalized care in a grooming industry that often felt rushed and overwhelming. What began as a solo venture has grown over the years into a small, trusted team—thanks to hard work, loyal clients, and a deep love for animals.
In late 2024, Ashley shifted her focus exclusively to her home salon in Otsego, offering a calm, cage-free space for pets to be groomed one-on-one. As the business grew, so did the team. Her longtime apprentice and grooming partner Vanessa stepped into a larger role, helping lead the mobile grooming side along with other talented additions. In 2025, that mobile arm officially rebranded as DapperTails Mobile Pet Grooming of Southwest Michigan, giving it its own identity while remaining under the same trusted ownership. Behind the scenes, Jess joined the team in 2024 to help manage client communications and keep operations running smoothly.
Though the brand has evolved, Storybrooke remains a small, woman-owned business rooted in community values, kindness, and a commitment to quality care. At the heart of it all is Ashley—still grooming every day from her cozy home salon, treating every pet like her own.

Hi. My name is Ashley Collins. I have always loved animals, and I was fortunate to find some amazing people who took me under their wing and showed me that I could make a living doing something that I love. In 2005, I began my career in the pet industry as a kennel technician at a pet resort. I began a grooming apprenticeship in 2006 and completed my training in 2007. In 2009, I completed advanced grooming training in Loveland, Colorado. Once in the industry, it didn’t take long for me to realize my dream of owning my own pet care business. In the summer of 2019, I decided to make that dream a reality. In September of 2019, Storybrooke Pet Grooming was founded.

Hello, I'm Jess, a virtual assistant and online business manager specializing in the grooming industry. With over 20 years of experience in the pet field, my passion extends beyond animals to helping people streamline their businesses. Formerly just a Mobile Groomer, I transitioned to virtual work in 2024 and founded "Groomer Support Services." Leveraging my skills in organization, systems, and technology, I'm dedicated to assisting clients and optimizing their operations. Beyond my work with clients, I enjoy kayaking, spending time with my four dogs and husband, camping, indulging in podcasts, and traveling the world in search of delicious vegan food.
